Yes Ernest I remember when the UWP was in power. These are some of the things that I remember from 3 years ago
)Fuel and Cooking gas was much cheaper than it is today!
)The murder rate was 25% lower than it is today!
)There was no 2.5% tax like there is today!
)The cost of living was much lower than it is today!
)We still owned Port Castries and the Soufriere Waterfront. 3 years later this is no longer the case
)Roads all over the country were being repaired and were in a much better condition than they are today!
)We were still exporting bananas to England. This is no longer happening today!
)We were only a few months away from getting a brand new St Jude Hospital. 3 years later still no St Jude!
)Phase 1 of the new Hewanorra International Airport was completed. 3 years later we cannot even begin phase 2. What a shame!
)Vieux Fort was beginning to shape into the Pearl of the Caribbean. We got 2 new call centres employing over 800 young people. We also had an international horse racing track employing many young men who would normally be on the block. Cruiseship home-porting was also about to happen in the south. Today it is now an Escalated Crime Area!
