It’s becoming increasingly clear that Education Minister Shawn Edward has done nothing new since taking office. Instead, he continues to take credit for initiatives that were conceptualised, funded, and launched under the leadership of Hon. Dr. Gale Rigobert and the United Workers Party.
A prime example is the Human Capital Resilience Project, which places major emphasis on introducing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) schools across the island. This visionary project was initiated by the UWP, with the loan secured from the World Bank and approved in Parliament as far back as 2019.
Minister Edward has simply inherited the groundwork laid by the UWP and has tried to rebrand it as his own.
