The Government of Saint Lucia has found itself embroiled in yet another scandal. Information has emerged that a European Criminal Enterprise has been approved as a Citizenship by Investment Infrastructure Developer to do a Housing project in Rock Hall located in the Prime Minister’s constituency of Castries East.
On September 12th, 2024, the Government of Saint Lucia suspiciously backdated approval for a company called BEMAX Caribbean Inc to implement the Housing project in Rock Hall.
Aleksander Mijajlovic, who is the principal of BEMAX, was arrested and charged for reportedly being the leader of a multi-billion Euro criminal organization involved in smuggling of contraband throughout Europe. Mijajlovic posted bail and was released on April 24, 2024. EUROPOL is involved in the ongoing investigation.
