Former Acting Comptroller of Customs responds to Minister Ernest Hilaire

“Fellow St. Lucians, I have been trying to call Timothy on news spin to address the statements by Dr. Ernest Hilaire on the morning show, but I just am not getting through, so I am taking to my facebook page to address him.

I heard first, the Prime Minister Mr. Philip Pierre in his address over the weekend state that after the St. Lucia Labour Party’s victory at the 2021 election, they did not go after no Public Servants. If I may borrow Tim’s Lie Detector, THAT WAS A LIE.

Secondly, I heard Dr. Hilaire express disappointment over his perceived intimidating and threatening of Public Servants, without considering the public servants, their families and the impact it has on their families. He is suggesting that the Public Servants are being threatened and intimidated by the opposition, even when they are doing their jobs.

He indicated that he did not know when the obsession with him by Mr. Chastanet started, but suggested that him being a target, even Customs Officers were sent to his home to seize his Range Rover. Dr. Hilaire, let me remind you and in case people reading this Facebook believe this is a fake profile, let me set the record straight.

My name is Peter D. Chiquot and I am the former Acting Comptroller of Customs who issued the warrant for the seizure and return of a Range Rover from Dr. Ernest Hilaire to the Castries Wharf for the lack of proper documentation, improper importation and clearance.

That being cleared up, I want to say to Dr. Hilaire, that the reason Customs Officers showed up at your house was because you violated the Laws of St. Lucia, in the Customs (Control and Management Act), Caps 15.05 of the Laws of St. Lucia. to be more specific Section 102 of the Act, where you were obligated to produce documentation, which you refused to do, to date.

Secondly, after the election of 2021, I was summoned to a meeting, where I was informed that instructions were issued by the Prime Minister, Mr. Philip Pierre, that I be informed that both he and Dr. Ernest Hilaire were not prepared to continue with me as Acting Comptroller of Customs and my continuation of Acting was not renewed.

If that is not Victimization and intimidation, based on your constant media pronouncements that I should be fired and should not be a Public Servant, then what is it? You were on the media relentless, saying that you can come after me and anyone who went after you. So, again if I may just borrow Tim’s Lie Detector, THAT WAS A LIE, from both you and the Prime Minister Mr. Philip Pierre.

Also, An Inspector of Police, who happen to be a Chiquot, a brother of mine, was transferred within three days of you becoming Prime Minister and I want you to tell the Nation, why he was transferred from the Marchand Police Station.

St. Lucians, both Dr. Ernest Hilaire and Mr. Philip Pierre should be looking in a mirror to see themselves when they speak about opposition intimidating and threatening Public Servants. Their pronouncements were so regular, that in my first Press Statement, I asked all Public Servants to stand up against these politicians who continually threaten Public Servants. I guess you all should remember my press statement of January 21, 2022.

As I said Vengeance is that of the Lord, not mine and so I will leave you for God but will continue to ask God to forgive you both. In closing this chapter, I want to ask all St. Lucians to see through the lies and deceit of these men and do what is necessary in the next election. VOTE THEM OUT. I ask all who is reading this post to stand up against these Tyrants, who continually refuses to tell the people the truth and doing exactly what they accuse the opposition of doing, which is intimidating, threating and victimizing of People.

Simple questions, they refuse to provide any answers or clarity for, so in the darkness that they continue to keep us, VOTE THEM OUT so we can see the light. St. Lucians, I will be addressing these Liars again in subsequent posts, once they say any untruth and I have the information. Believe me I have 36 years of information and files at my fingertips to debunk and prove any false statement coming from them wrong.
