Vendors in the City of Castries continue to face victimization under this uncaring and insensitive SLP administration. Those who were relocated to the La Place Carenage carpark to facilitate the project were promised priority placement in the new Box Park project. However, these promises have been broken by Castries Central MP Richard Frederick.
Instead of honoring their commitment, the vendors have now been ordered to vacate the La Place Carenage carpark by the end of March to make way for Global Ports Holdings (GPH).
For two years, these small business owners have operated in the carpark, paying monthly rents, yet their contracts were never renewed. Now, the Castries Constituency Council (CCC) has offered them alternative spaces at significantly higher rents, with most of the affordable units already leased, leaving vendors with no viable options for relocation.
This betrayal not only threatens their livelihoods but highlights the continued disregard for the struggles of ordinary Saint Lucians under this administration.

• 100sq ft store front at $1500 monthly
• 175sq ft store front at $2625 monthly
