During this year’s budget presentation, it was revealed that banana export revenue has plummeted to a shocking $3 million. This is not just a number, it’s a painful reflection of neglect, mismanagement and broken promises.
Just six years ago, under the United Workers Party, banana exports brought in $18 million. That’s a $15 million collapse under this current SLP administration. Farmers who once had hope now face hardship, abandoned by a government that has clearly lost touch with the agricultural roots of our nation.
The evidence is clear: under the SLP, agriculture is not a priority, it’s an afterthought.
