Today, the Parliament of Saint Lucia sunk to the lowest level in the history of fair Helen. On Day 2 of the debate on the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for 2022/2023, in an attempt to silence and prevent Leader of the Opposition Hon. Allen Chastanet from adding his voice to the days proceedings, the wicked and vindictive SLP Government prematurely ended the debate.
Most surprising to Saint Lucians, is the fact in the SLP’s attempt to silence Hon. Chastanet, 5 of their most senior Ministers were also denied an opportunity to debate the Estimates.
The SLP has a super majority in Parliament, out numbering the Opposition by 15 to 2. Why is the SLP so afraid of 1 man?
Are they embarrassed that the majority of the plans and Programmes in the budget are all plans started by the UWP Government?
Are they embarrassed that they promised that they would not borrow any money during their term but their Prime Minister announced that he would be borrowing $505 Million in his first year?
Are they afraid that Hon. Chastanet would point out the hypocrisy and lies that they peddled whilst in Government and expose them using the figures and plans contained in the budget?
Or are they just simply afraid that their Prime Minister is so incompetent that he would not be sufficiently able to respond to the challenges which Hon. Chastanet would have highlighted.
On thing was made clear by the SLP today, they are certainly afraid of Allen Chastanet and they will do whatever it takes, even throw their own representatives under the bus to go after the UWP Political Leader and Leader of the Opposition. #ABCGovernment#Arrogant#Bluffers#Criminals
