Saint Lucia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister with responsibility for investment Ernest Hilaire, is known for finding himself embroiled in scandals then finding someone else to blame for his blatant abuse of power and corruption. He did it with the secret appointment of Walid Juffali as an ambassador (A Saudi Arabian billionaire). He did it with the Range Rover scandal. He also did it with the illegal bank account that he opened up with Juffali. Now he finds himself at the centre of a US$1.4 Billion Citizenship by Investment scandal.
It is now obvious that Mr.Hilaire prefers to have Saint Lucia’s correspondent banking relationships and reputation destroyed just so that he could protect the ill-gotten gains that he an the Chinese Real Estate developer allegedly share. The missing US$1.4 Billion can solve a lot of Saint Lucia’s issues including our crumbling infrastructure, the poor quality of healthcare, the shortage of medication and supplies at our hospitals, the water supply issues that plague so many of our communities or this money could be used to help reduce the cost of living for thousands of struggling Saint Lucians. Mr. Hilaire apparently doesn’t care about any of this. His only goal is protecting his Chinese friends and not the people of Saint Lucia.
These are just a few of the questions which Mr. Hilaire refuses to answer:
How many citizenship files have been assigned to Galaxy for the real estate option?
How many citizenship files have been assigned to Galaxy for the infrastructure option?
How many applications have been approved under the infrastructure option so far?
When is the hotel being built by Galaxy expected to be completed?
Who is the current chairman of Saint Lucia’s CIP?
What happened to the US$100 million which you said that Galaxy would put upfront for infrastructure development?
Why haven’t you presented the 2 missing CIP annual reports in Parliament as required by law?
Is it true that Galaxy has been bribing staff of the CIP unit?
Is it true that Galaxy paid for a Brazilian Butt Lift for the wife of board member of the CIP unit?
Is it true that Galaxy also bought a gold Rolex for a senior manager of the CIP unit?
Why did the SLP administration increase the number of citizenships allocated to Galaxy from 700 to 6,000 for the real estate option?
Saint Lucians deserve answers! #WTF#PuttingYouWorse#SaveOurSaintLucia
