Last Thursday I had the misfortune of turning on to MBC hearing Frederick spill more lies than he did prior to the 2021 elections but above all, displaying his hatred for Allen Chastanet as usual. We were taken aghast by his comparison of Allen Chastanet
concerning each others accomplishments. Frederick’s claim to fame is the construction of third grade shacks over the City and in the south of the island. In case he has forgotten, Allen Chastanet has a record he can never match even though he tried. Under Allen’s watch as Tourism Minister before contesting the Soufriere seat, he orchestrated the dissolution of the old Soufriere bridge which was subsequently replaced by a state of the art bridge.

As prime minister of the country under Allen’s watch Soufriere became the centre of a modern beach facility (Hummingbird Beach with several restaurants and shops) and the home of the majority of tourists visiting Soufriere. A modern market and bus terminal unmatched at home with all the French architecture accompanying the facility. The completion of the Soufriere Square which has won the praises of thousands of locals and visitors alike. The stadium and grounds at Soufriere which emains as a masterpiece and which came in most handy for the recent Independence celebrations which took place in that area. Allen has left behind for St Lucia a state of the art hospital in the south which will one day be the pride of St Lucia for years to come. A magnificent airport terminal and tower at international standards. A top class horse racing track built to international standards, plans for a cruise ship terminal in the south which will one day transform that area. The completion of Cabot Golf Course which has been rated in the top 100 courses worldwide. The completion of Orange Grove Plaza from a derelict structure to the most attractive plaza on island designed to house most government offices at a very economical rate. A top class court facility for the Eastern Caribbean Court of Justice to be occupied shortly. A 10-store hotel at Point Seraphine which will bring the complex to another level.

These are the world class investments made for St Lucia not the third grade houses erected by Frederick’s Ministry. His propaganda has been seen through by the public and all St Lucians now view him as a fake who has no place in government. He should really be ashamed of his contribution including the sale of state assets at a giveaway price and paying an exorbitant price for a property in Castries which will surely come to light some day.
