The St. Lucia Labour Party (SLP) previously criticized the UWP Administration for allocating EC$2.5 Million to International Sports Venue Design and Development Specialist, Don Lockerbie, for the design, procurement, and supervision of upgrades to five national sports facilities. These facilities included the Soufriere Mini Stadium, Desruisseaux Playing Field, Micoud Playing Field, Dennery Sports Complex, and the Saint Lucia Sports Academy.
Mr. Lockerbie’s contract also covered designs for additional venues such as the Philip Marcellin Grounds, Vigie Sports Complex, The George Odlum Stadium, Mindoo Philip and Marchand Grounds, the Ruby Cricket Ground in Soufriere, and the creation of a Sports Zone in Beausejour Gros Islet.
However, the same SLP is currently allocating EC$2.5 Million to a consultant solely for advice on the George Odlum Stadium. This begs the question: which arrangement represents better value for money?
Which do you believe was a better deal?
$2.5 Million for 11 Sports Facilities under the UWP or $2.5 Million for 1 Sports Facility under the SLP? This stark contrast highlights the hypocrisy of the Labour Party, glaringly evident to all Saint Lucians. #PierreEhCare#PuttingYouWorse#SaveOurSaintLucia#PeoplePower
