Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre continues to deceive the people of Saint Lucia. He stood before the nation and claimed there would be no new taxes yet in reality, his government has quietly extended the 2.5% Health and Security Levy, a tax that was supposed to end this year.
Even more alarming, there is now a proposal circulating to increase VAT by another 2.5%, a move that Pierre failed to mention in his budget presentation.
