As young Saint Lucians, we are deeply concerned about the direction our country is heading. Piece by piece, the very foundation of our nation is being sold out and with it, our future.
Port Castries, the Soufrière Waterfront and soon, even the Hewanorra International Airport, all handed over to foreign control. National assets that belong to the people of Saint Lucia are being stripped away behind closed doors.
In just the last three years, over 11,000 Saint Lucian citizenships have been sold. These individuals, many of whom have no connection to our land, our struggles, or our culture now hold the same rights as us, including the right to vote and shape the destiny of a country they didn’t build.
Now, the government is introducing a Sovereign Wealth Fund, but instead of protecting Saint Lucian interests, it’s set to place millions in assets and CIP funds into the hands of foreign entities.
This is not development. This is not nation-building. This is a sellout of our sovereignty, our identity and our generational inheritance.
We will not be silent. Our voices must rise for our future, for our land and for the generations yet to come.
