The Courtyard Marriott, which is currently under construction at Pointe Seraphine, Castries was first announced by former Prime Minister Hon. Allen Chastanet during his 2018/2019 Budget Address. All the negotiations and incentives were done and granted under former Commerce and Investment Minister Hon. Bradly Felix along with Invest Saint Lucia. The construction of this project commenced in late 2020.
It is both laughable and hypocritical of the Philip J Pierre led administration to now claim this project as theirs, especially since all Saint Lucians would recall that during his time as Leader of the Opposition Philip J Pierre publicly stated that Hon. Allen Chastanet was the only one in the world who believed that tourism would rebound after the COVID-19 Pandemic. Had it not been for the foresight and vision of the hardworking and honourable men and women of the United Workers Party, this project would not have been benefiting Saint Lucians today.
The UWP looks forward to the completion of the Courtyard Marriott at Pointe Seraphine which will see scores of Saint Lucians benefit from the numerous job and business opportunities which this project will create.
