Saint Lucia Labour Party continues its vile attacks of racism and bigotry. On the television show called “ Can I help you with Richard Frederick ” aired on MBC last evening, the leadership of the Saint Lucia Labour Party clearly demonstrated that they are the architects of racism and bigotry that now defines the Labour Party.
Senior member of the Labour Party, Sir Calixte George re endorsed the use of racism by the Labour Party to divide the country when he referred to all members of the United Workers Party and the 37,000 persons who voted for the United Workers Party as house slaves.
In a democratic country enshrined in the Constitution is the right of freedom of association and the right of all citizens, regardless of political affiliation, to choose whichever Party they desire to support and to vote for on Election Day.
Furthermore, on the same show, the government Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister endorsed a supporter calling for the death of the Leader of the Opposition.
This same Minister publicly derided and disparaged long time Vendor Joyclyne Fannis, a private individual, whose right it is to ply her trade. She has publicly stated that the vile and intimidating attacks on her person have caused her to be fearful.
Based on the outrage by so many citizens and the harm that has been done, the United Workers Party calls on the Saint Lucia Labour Party and Prime Minister Pierre to condemn the racist remarks AND to distance himself and his Party from the egregious remarks and bigotry endorsed by his Minister.
