Under the United Workers Party administration in 2019, as part of efforts at Agricultural Diversification, we officially commissioned the reconfigured Cocoa Micro-Fermentary in Anse Ger, Micoud. This facility was envisioned to assist cocoa producers by improving the fermenting process for their cocoa.
During our tenure, the United Workers Party took a major step to support farmers by introducing pensions and insurance coverage. For years, many farmers, especially in the banana industry, had no proper coverage under the NIC, leaving them vulnerable in old age. The UWP’s initiative integrated farmers into the NIC system, providing pensions, health coverage, and protection against work-related injuries.…
