Almost 2 years later, citizens of Saint Lucia are still benefiting from employment and projects which were started by the former UWP administration. These projects are being executed under the Disaster Vulnerability Reduction Project which comes to an end at the end of June 2023.
Recognizing the vulnerabilities and risks faced by the island nation, the UWP administration undertook the DVR project, focusing on improving infrastructure, enhancing disaster preparedness, and increasing community resilience. The aim was to reduce the socio-economic impacts of natural disasters and create a more resilient Saint Lucia.
The projects include:
-The Blanchard Community Centre in Micoud South
-The Piaye Community Centre in Choiseul/Saltibus
-The Bexon Community Centre in Castries South East
-The Piaye Bridge in Choiseul/Saltibus
