An accountant and project manager by profession, Nancy Charles has been actively with the Untied Workers Party since the age of 19. She canvassed for the various UWP candidates who contested the Vieux Fort North Constituency from 1997 until she became the Chairperson of the Constituency Branch from 2006 until 2011 and the endorsed candidate in the 2011 general election.
After the election, Nancy was appointed to the executive of the UWP, first as the party’s Treasurer, then as Deputy Chairperson.
Nancy is known as a tireless worker and she dedicated herself to the successful campaign of the United Workers Party in the 2016 general election.
As the spokesperson for the party during the 2016 elections, Nancy defended the party and promoted its interests on all media platforms. She worked with the national campaign team and ensured both the canvassing and public meetings were properly coordinated. She assisted with managing everything from choosing the locations for the various meetings, training of canvassers, assisting candidates with talking points and managed candidates schedule with their campaign managers as well as prepared and managing campaign budgets.
On assuming office in 2016, Nancy served in the Office of the Prime Minister as Director of Implementation. In that role, she ensured co-ordination of works and timely implementation of Government projects.
Nancy served on the national campaign committee leading up to the 2021 general election where she was instrumental in the execution of many campaigns, virtual meetings as well as hall meetings. Over the years she has undergone extensive training in ground campaigns, media and communications as well as campaign management.
