2nd deputy political leader

In 2016 Dominic Fedee entered the political arena after a stellar career in the tourism/hospitality sector and became the Parliamentary Representative for Anse la Raye/Canaries as well as the Minister of Tourism in the Allen Chastanet Administration from 2016 to 2021.

Entrusted with the management and development of one of the key economic sectors in Saint Lucia, Dominic applied his knowledge and wealth of experience gained in the tourism industry to transform and grow the sector to historic levels.

During his tenure, Saint Lucia saw record levels of visitor arrivals, increased visitor spending and a massive increase in the number of Saint Lucian families that benefited directly and indirectly from the tourist dollar. There was significant growth in the cruise ship sector, Air B&Bs, restaurants, tour companies and other tourism related businesses.

Dominic honed his Public Relations and communications skills after many years working with Sandals Resorts International until his eventual promotion to the role of Regional Public Relations Manager for the company.

He has played a significant part in shaping the tourism industry of Saint Lucia into the modern sector that it is today.  Dominic’s comprehensive understanding and overall interest in the development of the island’s tourism sector, influenced numerous young people through various developmental and philanthropic foundations resulting in many receiving higher education and subsequent employment in the hospitality sector.

Dominic is a Chevening Scholar and knows first-hand the value of higher education.  He was the driving force behind scores of constituents in Anse La Raye/Canaries enrolling in the Hospitality Training Program facilitated by Monroe College in collaboration with the National Apprenticeship Program which remains one of his proudest achievements.  Following the course, many young people gained employment in the cruise ship and hotel, restaurants and bars sectors.

Dominic played a key role in the development of the concept of village tourism, a philosophy based on affording all Saint Lucians the opportunity to own a stake in the tourism sector.

During his time as Minister and District Representative for Anse-La-Raye/Canaries, Dominic Fedee transformed his constituency of La Raye/Canaries. During the last term, he built several roads throughout the constituency, rehabilitated schools, constructed the Anse La Raye Wellness Centre, oversaw the Waterfront Redevelopment Project and financed the facelift of many homes in the Anse La Raye Village. Through his efforts, Dominic has not only made a difference in Anse La Raye/Canaries, but he had also helped set Saint Lucia on a path for future economic successes.
